Energy Globe Award

With more than 178 participating countries and over 2000 project submissions annually the Energy Globe Award is today's most prestigious environmental prize worldwide. It distinguishes projects regionally, nationally and globally that conserve resources such as energy or utilize renewable or emission-free sources. Award ceremonies are held all over the world. Prominent personalities as well as Energy Globe Ambassadors in 90 countries support the mission of Energy Globe. The activities of Energy Globe attract worldwide media attention - international TV stations report each year with approximately 1,000 hours of broadcasting time. The aim of the Energy Globe is to raise global attention on sustainable, everywhere applicable environmental solutions and to motivate people to also become active in this area.

Solar Based Distillation Unit

This program is designed to help provide water to the impoverished communities. The practical elements are the low cost high gain production of water from an isolated unit. This will remove the element of loss to supply as there are no pipes to be damaged or large water reservoirs to be contaminated.

Initial situation
Due to consistent ecological disasters, constant wars throughout history and changing weather patterns, the planets water supply is not reliable. In some cases the water supply needs to be repaired and in other cases the available supply of water needs to be boosted by other means. In the area referred to here, Israel for example, the frequent conflicts have damaged supply lines and contaminated water supplies, which has left some areas water poor.

The widespread implementation of water collection devices and government support to implement water collection means will reduce the dependence on an unguaranteed water supply. It can provide clean reliable water to disadvantaged areas providing health and wellbeing to impoverished communities.

The collection system works off solar power and can generate its own energy to create water. This allows the unit to be completely off the grid as it operates without power lines or water transportation lines. This also reduces the risk of contamination through damaged or deteriorated pipes. As the unit can be placed almost anywhere there is no need for the water to be carried large distances. It can be placed anywhere there is a water supply of any kind.
