With more than 178 participating countries and over 2000 project submissions annually the Energy Globe Award is today's most prestigious environmental prize worldwide. It distinguishes projects regionally, nationally and globally that conserve resources such as energy or utilize renewable or emission-free sources. Award ceremonies are held all over the world. Prominent personalities as well as Energy Globe Ambassadors in 90 countries support the mission of Energy Globe. The activities of Energy Globe attract worldwide media attention - international TV stations report each year with approximately 1,000 hours of broadcasting time. The aim of the Energy Globe is to raise global attention on sustainable, everywhere applicable environmental solutions and to motivate people to also become active in this area.

The Virtual Power Plant Next Pool aggregates all power producing capacities to provide grid stabilizing services.
Considering the European energy transition, the question is how to coordinate many small power plants and the power consumption. A major challenge here is the inconsistent electricity production from renewable energies such as wind and photovoltaics, since the sun doesn´t always shine and the wind doesn´t always blow as forecasted.
One solution to this is the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) Next Pool. The Virtual Power Plant aggregates the power production of decentralized renewable power producers such as biogas, hydro or solar power as well as large-scale consumers such as mills or pump processes into a single Virtual Power Plant. This Virtual Power Plant then utilizes the flexibility of each networked asset to provide a joint production and consumption.
The unique selling point of the Virtual Power Plant Next Pool is that it combines the flexibility of power producers with the flexibility of power consumers. The fact that the power is not always worth the same amount of money not unlike gas at a gas station is valid for both sides: production & consumption. Just as the central control system of the Next Pool VPP automatically adjusts the production according to current spot market prices, it also adjusts the power consumption of the aggregated consumption side assets in the Virtual Power Plant. While one side achieves higher prices in selling power, the other side lowers their energy costs.
