With more than 178 participating countries and over 2000 project submissions annually the Energy Globe Award is today's most prestigious environmental prize worldwide. It distinguishes projects regionally, nationally and globally that conserve resources such as energy or utilize renewable or emission-free sources. Award ceremonies are held all over the world. Prominent personalities as well as Energy Globe Ambassadors in 90 countries support the mission of Energy Globe. The activities of Energy Globe attract worldwide media attention - international TV stations report each year with approximately 1,000 hours of broadcasting time. The aim of the Energy Globe is to raise global attention on sustainable, everywhere applicable environmental solutions and to motivate people to also become active in this area.

This project leads to a new process and set of technologies in industrial wastewater treating in order to reuse the water in the same industrial process creating a closed loop.
The problem for the textile company was the excessive amount of water they used from a well - approximately 1,600 m3 every day. After the production process, the water was treated in a biological plant and sent in the public sewerage system. Furthermore, the cost of used water was very high and the fee for wastewater is established in accordance to its chemical purity. The final problem and the challenge was how to construct the new plant without stopping the production.
The solution is to find a new process and set of technologies to reuse the water in the same industrial process. They also implanted a new wastewater treatment plant for cost reduction and higher ecological chemical purity. The heat of reused water is 30 degrees Celsius compared to the 15 degrees Celsius of normal water. This means huge savings in natural gas. They also reach better production performances thanks to stable and technically perfect water.
Wasatex is an innovative system to reuse the discharged wastewater in the industrial process and consequently limiting the quantity of water that must be discharged and brings the pollution parameters under the limit requested by the law. They redesigned and rebuilt the present plant in sequences and implemented a new set of technologies obtaining purified water of different qualities for different production processes. Furthermore, less chemical products are required in the production process to maintain the same quality standard. The technology is replicable and suitable for different kinds of production cycles.
