This project's goal is to contribute to the resilience of the society to major natural risks and the climate change as well as the preservation of the Algerian environment, water resources and biodiversity.

Initial situation
Algeria suffers from many problems like natural disasters, abuse of underground and surface water resources, degradation of vegetation cover and ecological diversity as well as environmental degradation.

Solution
This project has huge goals: 1,000 jobs shall be created in different areas between 2016 and 2030. Water resources are being mapped and preserved, and natural resources are exploited in a rational way. Areas are mapped and assessed in terms of natural and technological risks. Its general goal is to contribute to the resilience of the society to major natural risks as well as the preservation of the Algerian environment and biodiversity.

Innovation
The office for sustainable development is the first of its kind in Algeria. It meets the 17 universal objectives of sustainable development. This project could be applied on a local, national and international level both in developed and non-developed countries since it contributes to resilience to climate change.
