Project: Sustainable cities - vertical gardens and green walls

The vertical garden brings nature and its multiple shades of green back into urban environments. Plants in a living wall absorb pollutants and hence improve the air quality.

Initial situation
Urban environments often lack green spaces as ground space is becoming increasingly rare. Although plants would enhance the life quality in the cities not only because of their beauty but also because they regulate humidity, filter emissions from the air and absorb noise, many cities remain dull and gray.

Solution
The vertical garden brings nature and its multiple shades of green back into urban environments. Plants in a living wall absorb pollutants and hence improve the air quality. The advanced design features make it very easy to plant and the plants quickly take root. Living walls offer considerable thermal and acoustic benefits. The greening of buildings, in particular on exterior surfaces, helps create more sustainable cities. An external green wall generates energy savings and reduces CO2 emissions. Living, eco-friendly and customizable, SICAP entirely transforms spaces. Interior and exterior wall surfaces can be converted into areas of lush natural greenery.

Innovation
Planted facades of the exterior wall type cladding have considerable potential in terms of resolving energy and environment-related issues connected with buildings. The modular green wall system SICAP is especially efficient in terms of enhancing thermal insulation of buildings due to its geometric and structural features. SICAP is made out of several layers which achieve various beneficial interacting effects, reducing heat flows through the facade of the buildings.

Jury-Rating
Urban environments often lack green spaces as ground space is becoming increasingly rare. This year's National Winner of the Energy Globe Award in Tunisia implements vertical gardens which bring nature and its multiple shades of green back into urban environments. Plants in a living wall absorb pollutants and hence improve the air quality. Congratulations on your initiative!
