National ENERGY GLOBE Award Slovakia 2017

Submitted by: BIOMASA, Association of Legal Entities
Project: Manage and planning use of domestic energy

Raise awareness about the use of biomass and solar energy as a domestic renewable energy source (RES) to heating buildings and water by organizing informative and educational events for various target groups.

Initial situation
The limited use of biomass and solar energy is due ignorance of the possibilities of local RES and to individual’s unawareness that they themselves have opportunities to change situation for the better. Not more than 10% of the general public is adequately informed about the possibility to use biomass and solar power to meet their energy needs. This situation is difficult to change for the better without long term education. The significant problem is people`s thinking and their approach to the issue.

Solution
People´s thinking must be changed via long-term systematic effort and positive reinforcement of the benefits of biomass and solar energy as a suitable RES. People will need to see clear and understandable examples of successful use and the significant benefits (economy, labor, access) provided by the efficient use of RES, especially biomass and solar.

Innovation
The main goal is to establish a Bioclimatic park with sustainable energy for future generations: water, land and air management, natural agriculture, 100% renewably energy, further, establish and operate with strong various sustainable cooperation between people like EKOKLASTER in Slovakia in order to stay competitive.
