Energy Globe Honorary Award for Iranian Vice President Masoumeh Ebtekar

Grand ceremony at the Milad Tower in Iran

On 29 January 2014 the Iranian Vice President and Head of Department of Environment (DOE), was awarded the Energy Globe Honorary Award for Lifetime Achievement. The ceremony took place at the 8th Green Management Conference in Milad Tower in Tehran, where also outstanding sustainable projects of the country were honored with the National Energy Globe Awards Iran. The award was presented by Energy Globe founder Wolfgang Neumann in front of over 1000 high-level conference participants from politics and business. Partner of the Energy Globe in Iran is the Iranian Society for Green Management ( ISGM ) – which organized the Green Management Conference and the Ceremony of National ENERGY GLOBE Award in Iran.


Vice President Ebtekar who achieved Energy Globe Honorary Award, was also in a leading position for environmental matters in the Municipality of Tehran. She is founder of NGO with 120 Experts and scientists focusing on sustainable peace and environmental protection that is called the Iran Center for Peace and Environment. H.E Ebtekar was named one of the seven 2006 Champions of the Earth by the United Nations Environment Program as a prominent and "inspirational" environmental leader who has made an impact at policy level in a region of the world in 2006 .
In numerous publications Ebtekar calls for more responsibility of the individual and society towards our planet, sustainable development and combines this with the idea of peace.
