Title: Fully automatic solar harvest monitoring in real time
Normally for thermal solar systems the solar harvest is measured (if at all) by means of a heat meter at more or less regular intervals and with target values. The resulting large time grid often leads to late detection of errors. Also, the comparability of results from previous years is limited because hours of sunlight and other conditions can vary greatly. This project in Salzburg-Siezenheim sets new benchmarks; here solar irradiation onto the collector is measured with a radiation probe and so the irradiation can be computed in kWh. The resulting ratio of incoming power and output power is the measure of the quality of a solar system and above all an indicator of its correct functioning.
