SolarInside is a process developed by Junkers that optimizes the interplay of caloric devices and solar systems. This process was integrated into all system controls of the new generation of Junkers caloric devices starting March 2007, whereby more energy comes from the sun for hot water production than is the case with conventional caloric/solar solutions. The system saves up to 15% of energy for hot water production. Because room heating also involves direct solar irradiation, this reduces the annual heating energy requirement by up to 5%. Thus compared to a gas caloric heating system, SolarInside in a new low-energy single-family home saves some 0.6 tons of CO2 annually.
