Title: High-quality separation and recycling of metal alloys from old engines
The goal is to demonstrate the technical and economic feasibility of a new high-performance process for separating metal alloys to a purity of over 99%. The system is based on a combination of magnetic separation, eddy current, granulometry and flotation to separate iron, aluminum and heavy metals. Plans call for recycling metallic wastes from end-of-life vehicle engines into new vehicle engines. The prototype is expected to process 650 tons of material from used engines each week. The new development serves primarily as a logistical link between companies that process old engines and auto manufacturers who employ the recycled material.
