Title: Heat from St. Moritz Lake
Heating with water from a lake at 1770 meters above sea level was implemented in St. Moritz (Switzerland) for the Badrutt’s Palace Hotel and Grevas school building. Utilization of renewable energy from the water of St. Moritz with greater efficiency to cover peaks and coupling with a device for hot water production from exhaust (exhaust recuperator) together dramatically improve the eco-balance of the heating system. In relation to a renovated fossil plant, 475,000 liters of heating oil are saved annually, which alleviates the environment of 1200 tons of CO2 annually and makes a valuable contribution to improving Alpine air quality.
