Title: New Home for Handicapped People near Salzburg
At the periphery of Salzburg (Austria), the Diakoniewerk Gallneukirchen (Social Services of the Lutheran Church) has constructed a residence with additional therapy rooms and offices to serve 30 multiply handicapped people. The 1700 m² (2/3 from old building structures) are constructed barrier-free and easy to reach. The energy supply throughout is a wood chip central heating, pedestals and photovoltaic installations; 95 m² of façade collectors for hot water preparation and heating support, and 25 m² photovoltaic installation on the roof for heating in case of a power failure and for feeding the internal network. An additional aim was a well balanced optical appearance.
