Title: Tanzanian and German Youths Build Solar Future in Tanzania
This project brings young people from Tanzania and Germany together with the aim to co-design the energy supply for their own future. Energy supply is one of the most important keys to overcoming poverty. A solar energy supply is therefore one step ahead. Improvements took place in the first year. Students from a secondary school in Kizimkazi (Zanzibar) constructed and repaired solar lamps and the solar energy supply of the peninsula Uzi was prepared. The vocational college Mafinga in the south of Tanzania manufactured the solar cells, and solar hot water boiler and biogas facilities were constructed. The NGO TaTEDO in Dar es Salaam strives for clean development mechanisms and energy demand developments and implemented cooking and baking through energy-saving stoves and solar cookers.
