Title: Cooling by Biomass
Main object of the Teufelberger company was an economical and ecological maintainable solution for cold production. Instead of power for common use and heating oil for heat production, a new system named Power-Heat-Cold-Coupling was installed. It describes an implemented an all-in-one system including power-, heat- and cold-production. There are three main elements, the boiler-combustion-plant, the absorption chiller and the “Organic Rankine Cycle”-module. Now, biomass instead of oil will be used up for heat production. At same time electric current is generated via ORC-module, which can be used completely for the own power consumption. With help of the absorption chiller it is now possible to maintain a permanent and adequate cold-output for at least 9 Month a Year. Additionally heat recovery is arranged by means of a heat pump. As a consequence energy from heat exchange, rejected heat and discharged air can be used for additional heating, especially in winter. Moreover the company has assured that biomass is available for 7 years. The amortization time makes up 8.8 years.
