Due to steadily rising energy costs, conscious energy consumption behavior on the part of students at school is aimed to transport such behavior back home. Intercurricular and multi-class projects involved students of the eighth grade at the middle school in Munderfing (Upper Austria). They encounter alternative energy sources, monitor energy consumption and temperature and present their results at exhibits. In addition, a contract with the municipality of Munderfing specifies that half the money saved through energy-conscious handling of electricity and heating is availed to the school.
