The proposed interdisciplinary university model is an innovation project in the realm of the UN Decade 2005-2014 Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Here the university serves as a central venue for learning in the region. The project • is anchored in a total of 10 majors • joins xxx, social and natural science problems and methods • integrates theoretical and practical phases • beyond university students, also reaches teachers, parents and pupils in various types of school • is involved in constructive long-range project cooperations on an international level The proposed model encompasses one academic year and the three base modules Environmental Education, Global Learning and Anthropological Reflection. In the past years the individual modules and several teaching modules have been tested. The project is presently in the first cycle of the complete project.
