Title: Geothermal Heating in a Residential Complex
One of the biggest geothermal heating plants in Austria is under construction in Velden, Austria. 18 residential units divided on 9 houses and one apartment building with 9 units will be supplied with thermal heat out of depths sounds. All in all 17 heat pumps and 40 borehole heat exchangers between 60 and 100 m deep will be installed. Thus the company was able to replace the originally planned central oil heating facility with a sustainable and renewable energy solution. There is also an innovation in the heat distributing system: there is no common floor heating but selective heat distribution for consistent and better heating instead.
