Title: Preparation of Management Plan for Eight Natura 2000 Areas in Cyprus

The most important goals of the project in terms of impact are to strengthen the capacity of the Environment Service in preparing and implementing a management plan for Natura 2000 areas, to transfer knowledge and skills in specific areas, to contribute to the sustainability of nature protection in Cyprus, and to support the overall policy on sustainable development and protection of natural resources on the island. Therefore, the Nature Section of the Environment Service employs four scientists and one technician, and by the end of the year they will be joined by two additional officers, thus forming a team that can handle the administration of the project.
