Title: Fresnel Collector as Viable Energy Source
The aim of the project is the development of a marketable Fresnel collector for thermal utilization of solar energy in a temperature range up to 200 °C. The first application is the solar production of cold, supported by an efficient ammonia-water refrigerating machine that is run exclusively by solar power. By means of ice storage, cooling can occur day and night. Other versatile application domains include industrial processes where fossil fuels are used almost excessively. Using the collector reduces fossil energy consumption and CO2 emissions and frees the electrical grid. The collector is suitable for developing countries, as it reduces the dependence on fossil fuels and the major parts of the collector can be produced in the country. Advantages of the Fresnel-collector are its simple construction, the usability of the area under the collector, and its easy installation on roofs.
