Title: Southeast False Creek and Olympic Village Planning Project
This submission is made in all categories for a Master Planning project that began as an experiment to define the practical parameters of a model sustainable community for 15,000 people in the Southeast False Creek (SEFC) area of downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The resulting master plan was subsequently used to support Vancouver’s successful bid for the 2010 Sustainable Olympic Games. The project has advanced through many stages of research, design, development, and public consultation, and is currently in the early stages of infrastructure construction. The central portion of the plan will be completed in time to house athletes for the games in 2010, while final completion of the plan will be twenty years in the future.
