Title: Education for Former Street Kids
During the great drought in Kenya at the beginning of the nineties, thousands had to flee from the north of the country to the western region Kitale, which is the granary of Kenya. Through this migration many children lost their parents and had to fend for themselves. The organization Child Care International absorbed many of these children at their centers and helped families to solve their problems. The local organization Njia Panda Ya Tumaini helps children to do an apprenticeship both at the centers and at a vocational college. Therewith they have a professional training and will be able to earn their own money.
