Title: Ecokids East Africa
EcoKids East Africa, a collaborative project of the African Conservation Foundation and ERMIS Africa, is a supplementary environmental education project for primary school children and their teachers. The project connects children with the natural world and inspires them to make changes that positively impact their communities. The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the knowledge base and create a strong sense of awareness of environmental issues among school children and thus empower communities to reduce poverty through sustainable development. Through a traveling education program using the power of games, cartoons, drama and film along with school-based action projects, EcoKids East Africa aims to reach and inspire children and enhance their understanding of how they are personally linked to the natural environment. The project is currently being implemented in both urban and rural areas of Northern Tanzania and Southern Kenya.
