Title: Solar stoves for India
Since 2000 the Salzburg (Austria) associations PLAGE (Platform against Atom Danger) and Intersol (Association to Promote International Solidarity) have been operating projects to co-finance solar cookers for India. The cooker was designed and developed in Germany and can reduce ecological, social and sanitary problems. Two ways of project financing are pursued: projects in schools, which also contribute to raising awareness (through 20 schools, 200 solar cookers have been financed), and budget contributions from Salzburg townships in the sense of Agenda 21. Such funding to date enabled co-financing the first solar village of India (Bysanivaripalli, south India).
