Title: Biomass for Apartment Complex in Salzburg

Within 13 years the Salzburg Building Society (GSWB) constructed 13 apartment houses with 138 apartments in St. Johann (Salzburg, Austria). Through the designed distribution of energy demand, a highly economical heat production facility could be developed. In order to avoid unfavorable operating conditions, special attention is paid to the efficient use of biomass. Therefore approximately 85% of energy can be covered by renewable energy sources. At the beginning of 2006 the new apartments were delivered to their residents.
