Title: Simple Technology and Motivation for a Better Quality of Life

Tuwo is an isolated village with approximately 800 habitants on the Reef Islands of the Solomon Islands. People there are always faced with a lack of drinking water due to the geographical characteristics that do not offer rivers. Up to now, water was collected in rain barrels without any protection against animals; they provided water for daily use. The aim of this project is that by 2010 all habitants of Tuwo will have easy access to enough water. Plans will implement simple technology in order to collect more rain water at once, to build more water tanks for storage, to build walls as protection against animals, to improve the system to guarantee old people easy access, and to improve the sanitation system.
