Title: Water, hygiene and sanitation project in Uganda
The Bisozi Water and Sanitation project was implemented by the Community Empowerment Initiative (CEI), an NGO in western Uganda, with the support of the donor agency Simavi of the Netherlands. The project was realized between 2004 and 2006 to meet community requirements; there was a lack of water hygiene and sanitation facilities in the area resulting in water and sanitation related diseases and poverty due to high expenditures on health treatment. This moved CEI to implement an integrated water, hygiene and sanitation project and to improve water environment and sanitation in the communities.
