Title: Emission-free learning in the first zero-energy house in Tyrol
In 2006 the Haas Academy set new standards in the field of sustainable building with the new construction of its office and seminar building. The first zero-energy house in Tyrol was built by regional companies and is based on a refined passive house concept with a heat pump system for heating and hot water, controlled ventilation with heat recovery, and passive cooling in the summer. The building’s own solar facility enables a 100% emission- free and autonomous energy supply, which yields annual CO2 savings of 7.5 tons. Special attention was paid to room air quality and high comfort through special Feng Shui concepts, which creates an optimal environment for the company’s seminar activities.
