Title: Solar Power Villages Reduce Poverty in Developing Countries
The most important weapon in fighting poverty in developing countries is access to inexpensive energy and drinking water. As the southern regions have at their disposal an endless wealth in solar potential, the decentralized utilization of solar energy would be the simplest solution. The Solar Power Village secures an autonomous solar energy supply for all the house’s facilities such as water pump, hot water generator, cooking, power generation, storage of heat, and electric power. The technologies and components used are decentralized, environmental, low-maintenance and cost-efficient, and they can be produced for the most part within the country. Therefore local economic development through new jobs and stabilization of social structures occurs and dependence on foreign countries decreases.
