Title: Design and Test a Series of Wind Chargers of Simple Technology Appropriate for Peruvian Local Conditions
The project was realized in the period 1997-2003 together with the pre-graduate and post-graduate students of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. They studied wind energy and design of wind turbines and then applied their knowledge. The main purpose of the project was to develop a low-cost wind generator of simple technology that can be manufactured in any handicraft workshop using the components and materials available on the local market. Three different type of small wind chargers were designed and tested and now are ready for replication by people of low economic means living in regions without electricity supply but within reach of wind resources.
