Title: Baltic Biomass Network
The BSR Interreg IIIB Baltic Biomass Network works at a regional, spatial planning level with local authorities, biomass producers and bio-energy investors in drawing up optimal production schemes for mobilizing biomass resources and planning sustainable bio-energy investment projects. The BBN approach is to visualize future energy landscapes and identify suitable areas for energy production, solid-fuel recovery and plant location by means of GIS-based tools. Together with bio-energy stakeholders, BBN draws up bio-energy development scenarios in the participating regions considering local and international market chances, new technologies and bio-energy product lines, environment, land use and the implications of EU bio-energy directives.
