Title: Conservation Education for National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries

This project is a collaboration between Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Environment Education and Research (BIVEER) and India-Canada Environment Facility (ICEF), New Delhi. Considering the loss of biodiversity in the protected areas of the nation, the project aims to create environmental awareness among the stakeholders, who are closely related to the protection and management of the protected areas. The project has held orientation workshops for the stakeholders from the Education and the Forest Departments. An intensive school environment education program for 120 schools has been initiated. Local specific environment education materials in the from of teacher handbooks, flip charts, audio-visuals, teaching aids and activity sheets for students have been generated. The project has reached out to over 7500 students every month along with an equal number of community members and 709 teachers through multiple training workshops.
