Title: Schiestlhaus Pilot Project for Sustainable and Energy-Efficient Building
The Schiestlhaus is located at an altitude of 2154 m, directly below the peak of the Hochschwab in the nature reserve Salzatal in upper Styria (Austria). The new Schiestlhaus was developed as a passive house to serve as a pilot project to demonstrate sustainable, energy-optimized building. The building consists of a compact floor and two additional floors in wooden beam construction. To shorten the building time, all pieces were prefabricated in the valley and transported to the building site per helicopter.
