Title: Environmentally Safe Disposal of End-of-Life Vehicles
Developing countries recycle their End of Life Vehicles at vehicle dismantlers that generally work to a minimum standard. Each of these ELVs contains around 25 liters of pollutants such as petrol, oil and brake fluids. If not properly decontaminated, these pollutants harm the environment. Therefore SEDA Umwelttechnik GmbH is developing a project for the Pacific Islands, where scrap car will be collected centrally, depolluted, crushed and sold to scrap merchants. The whole project will be self-financed, provide jobs and help to protect the environment.
