Title: Wind Energy Development in Iran
One of the main objectives of the fourth development plan of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to increase the nation’s capacity of renewable energy. Increasing the share of renewable energy in the national energy mix is another element of Iran’s long-term policy. The Ministry of Energy (MOE) has planned to allocate one percent of the total capacity of electricity generation to renewable energy sources (power plants) until 2010. Since one of the most important projects is a wind power plant, the project 100 MW Manjil Wind Power Plant has been planned. The reduction of greenhouse gases is about 427,276 tons/yr CO2 equivalent.
