Title: Passive Solar Houses in Village Complex

The realization of the first passive solar house village of Europe is actually in progress. The “Sonnenplatz Großschönau” project will be realized in cooperation with 40 companies. Phase one involves seven houses of different design and technique (wood, brick and mixed building forms). The technology inside varies as does the design. In March 2007 all prospective customers can test the houses and living conditions before buying. This offers the chance to experience all advantages of the modern environmentally friendly technologies. In addition to the sustainable village concept, uniform landscape architecture including natural ponds and wellness areas creates the right environment. In the heart of the complex, there will be a competence center in the form of a multifunctional complex for the interchange of know-how and education. The pilot project proposes an ingenious village concept for rural areas. Moreover, it is contributing significantly to the spread of ecological thinking on the level of village design.
