Title: Changeover of a Steam District Heating Network to Hot Water
The project was initiated to lower the operating temperature and therefore the network leakage and CO2 emissions (up to 65,000 tons/year) and to create the possibility of feeding the whole district heating network with industrial waste heat. From there 800 heat exchange sections from big steam production units as well as 900 district heating pipes were rebuilt. The project will be completed in 2010. Thereafter it will be possible to feed waste heat from industrial facilities and green energy projects directly into the grid for distribution.
