Title: Energy efficiency through consciousness building
This project scientifically demonstrated the influence of consciousness-building measures toward efficient handling of energy among 300 Styrian pupils. Three interrelated empirical studies were conducted. The first two studies developed questionnaires; the third study examined the influence of educational measures for careful treatment of energy. Persons with more knowledge and improved terminology regarding energy demonstrated greater readiness for energy-efficient action and also changed accustomed behavior concerning energy. In addition, the project developed a curriculum unit to improve knowledge, understanding and attitudes concerning energy and to increase preparedness for more efficient handling of the valuable resource energy.
