Title: Heat recovery from dry air at DaimlerChrysler
This project concerns the planning and realization of two systems for thermal utilization of the emissions of an automobile paint shop; these emissions result from the trying of painted autos. Now these emissions are fed through a heat exchanger and the recovered heat is used to heat water for the central heating systems. Heat consumers include intermediate drying systems in the paint shop, the intake systems for conditioning halls, and process air supply. The two systems have been in operation since Aug/Oct 2006. Their output of 4000 kW saves 24,000 MWh/a (30% of the paint shop requirement).
