Title: Local sustainable energy solutions in water pasteurization with solar energy
This project is set in one of the poorest regions of the country, which is seriously threatened by the advance of the desert and by population density. The project strives to provide drinking water for the population by promoting solar energy to counter the further advance of the desert. The project targets the most vulnerable groups in the society, i.e., women and children. Several women’s groups and environmental associations have been founded in schools and received information about the project. Numerous women were trained to produce their own solar cookers and to disseminate the idea of this project in other villages and to teach other women these technologies.
