Title: Sustainability and optimization of treatment and utilization of waste water for agriculture
This project ran experiments in two agrarian fields: In a field in Greece, the project strived for a waste water treatment system whose outflow is suitable for agricultural reuse, and in a field in Tunisia irrigation methods were tested for compatibility with sustainable agricultural practice. The waste water was applied to seeds in Greece. Important criteria were the sustainable manner of production and economical technologies that are suitable for a Mediterranean environment. The goals of the initiative are: to find a favorable field to adjust the analysis procedures; to establish uniform tolerance levels for the waste water that is intended for similar applications; and to establish a joint database.
