Title: Geothermal power plant for Hundertwasser Hotel in Austria
In 2001 a unique 250 KW geothermal power plant installed in Bad Blumau, Austria, was the first geothermal project following the deregulation of the electric industry in Austria. What makes this project unique is its private ownership and its ability to generate and supply electricity and heat from 110°C geothermal fluid to the Hundertwasser Hotel. The air-cooled Ormat® energy converter plant was installed by hotel staff in one week and has since been operating well. The relatively low-temperature geothermal fluid flows from an artesian at a depth of 3000 meters and the cooled fluid is re-injected.
