Title: Administrative building II in Laakirchen
The starting point was the desire to build a modern building with minimum investment costs, low operating costs and high comfort in Laakirchen (Austria). This led to an attempt to create a building with little technology yet full functionality. The pursuit of a concept with such high demands employed a special tool for thermo-dynamic building simulation. The special features of this low-energy house with passive house components are its low investment and operating costs, its environmentally friendly district heat from a nearby paper mill, its natural ventilation system, gentle cooling via a ground water well, and the solar-controlled shade elements.
