Title: Action-based sustainability education project in Australian schools
Over two million Australian children have taken part in Gould’s new generation of sustainability education and training programs. Action-based programs designed to integrate seamlessly into existing school curriculum are outcomes-based and behaviour-modifying, not just awareness-raising. They engage, up-skill and empower children to become environmental leaders – adopting actions at home and at school to reduce their environmental footprint through the judicious and economical use of resources and the elimination of wasteful behaviours. The results of the green schools programs, which are all independently evaluated, are impressive, and the enthusiasm, leadership and commitment shown by children and their teachers are outstanding.
