Title: Reconditioning of a micro-hydroelectric power plant at Podhorsky mlyn (CZ)
The goal of the project was to recondition a micro-hydroelectric power plant that had been out of commission for years in such a way that power could be generated from renewable energy sources without any negative environmental impact. Reactivating the water turbine also enriches the water with oxygen (oxygenation) as it flows through the turbine. At normal throughput the plant generates 18 KWh of power. The plant is operated without full-time personnel. The plant was put into operation and connected to the grid in September 2007. The water turbine that once operated the mill is also intended for reconditioning and conversion to power generation.
