Title: Robert-Murjahn-Institute (RMI) Türkiye Building (Turkey)
We believe that some 70 thousand euro of additional investment is worth every cent because it not only prevents emission of 40 tons of CO2 per year but also amortizes within 5 to 10 years. Our environmental awareness towards CO2 emission of buildings and available strategies towards minimizing this was the primary incentive for us to construct our R&D center with energy-efficient features and to design it use renewable energy sources. Located in Betek Paint and Chemical Industries Corp.'s Gebze plant, the 2217 m² RMI-Türkiye building is one of Turkey's (as well as the Middle East's) first commercial buildings to integrate geothermal energy for heating and cooling, natural lighting and ventilation, and above-average thermal insulation into a research environment.
