Title: Saving energy to reduce energy dependency of Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan depends on the import of fossil fuel up to 60% and Kyrgyz regions suffer from difficulties with the energy supply, in particular during the winter peaks. Energy (heat and power) is not used efficiently due to obsolete equipment, weak management and high rates of losses. The Energy Service Company (ESCO) is developed well in European and other developed countries as an effective tool to save energy and money. The main goal of the project is the introduction and promotion of energy contracting in order to enhance sustainability of the municipal energy sector and thus to contribute to the national energy strategy, environmental protection and the development of the regional energy infrastructure.
