Title: Lake Constance Youth Energy Day to experience sustainable energy consciously and transnationally
In the context of the project Lake Constance Agenda 21 and building on the results of the International Lake Constance Youth Summit, the Lake Constance Youth Energy Day took place on 6 October 2006. 120 young people from Austria, Switzerland and Germany in excursion groups attended future-oriented Vorarlberg (Austria) energy projects on the four thematic emphases: energy from biomass, the passive house, energy from the sun, and electricity from water. All projects were evaluated by the young people for their effects on economy, environment, and social aspects and their long-range effects, presented based on these criteria with respect to sustainability, and discussed with representatives from government and energy experts. This critical discussion is aimed to motivate experience across borders and mentalities and to contribute to networking among young people.
