Title: Carpet cleaning with sauerkraut bacteria
The carpet cleaners Der Bischof (Vienna, Austria) uses a special micro-organism mix consisting of lactic acid bacteria, yeast and photosynthesis bacteria. The idea for this cleaning method was sauerkraut had once been used for carpet cleaning. Sauerkraut contains these micro-organisms, which now as then contribute to the cleaning. In addition, the use of detergents can be reduced and waste water is enriched with useful bacteria that also support water treatment. The costs of the new and the conventional variants are about the same.
