Title: Energy savings from intelligent metering and behavioral change

This EU project seeks to achieve energy and water savings via training in building utilization. The primary project goal was to save money, energy and CO2 emissions. Through behavioral change, in the period from April to December 2006 the project achieved overall savings of €32,808 in eight buildings, for a CO2 equivalent of ca. 100,000 kg. Modern technologies help to achieve heightened sensitivity of building users for sustainable and conservational use of resources, energy and water. “Energy-efficiency need not sacrifice comfort!” Remote counters enable the recording and analyzing of data every 15 minutes. This project proves that numerous savings opportunities without large investments. The goal is to compensate for impediments and a lack of knowledge with proposals that are relevant to practice.
