Title: Energy optimization by DaimlerChrysler AG in Stuttgart
At its production site in Stuttgart (Germany), DaimlerChrysler AG annually consumes energy on the order of a city with 600,000 residents for the production of aggregates. In order to actively counter global warming, DaimlerChrysler decided to study energy utilization and energy consumption at this site. Numerous aspects were examined. The goals were to reduce pollutants, to save energy and simultaneously to remain competitive. From April to December 2006, 36 million kWh of electric energy, 67 million kWh of heating, and 5 million m³ of drinking water were saved.
